About New Mexico Woman

In March 2008, New Mexico WOMAN marked 20 years of women celebrating women. New Mexico WOMAN is a monthly magazine devoted solely to telling the stories of the most accomplished, dedicated, and successful women in business in New Mexico. The publication began life as a four-page newsletter in 1988. Now it’s grown to a 30-plus page, four-color glossy magazine with a readership of more than 45,000 every issue.

Jill Duval
Publisher

Jill continually takes pleasure in helping promote women in every profession and field of endeavor while discovering the joy and heartbreak of the wonderful world of advertising. Jill goes about her business non-stop, organizing, planning, and working on her publications and events just about 24/7. Her mission: to spread the word about opportunities for women all over New Mexico.

 

Karyth Becenti
Managing Editor

Karyth joined the staff as a 2005 University of New Mexico graduate with a bachelor’s degree in English, with a major in professional writing and a minor in intercultural communications. She has been Managing Editor since November 2006. Originally from Crownpoint, a small town in the upper Four Corners area of New Mexico, she is a member of the Navajo Nation. One word to describe her is “ambitious.”

Denise Tessier
Copy Editor

Denise is a native New Mexican who has covered the state as a journalist for more than 30 years—from covering agriculture and the environment to reporting on federal agencies, courts, art, architecture, and the popular music scene. As copy editor, she ensures the magazine’s style is consistent and typos are nonexistent—or tries, anyway. When she’s not writing or editing, she’s hiking, gardening, or digging up history.

Velsy Enriquez
Office Manager

Velsy has been with the company since 2001. She not only knows where everything is in the office, but also knows how to contact anyone and everyone. She has near-instant recall on assignments, details, inventory, and contracts. She is project manager for the New Mexico Women's Yellow Pages and bookkeeper for New Mexico Woman Inc. She fluently speaks both English and Spanish.

Whitney Liese Whitcamp
Administrative Assistant

Whitney joined New Mexico WOMAN in January 2007 and is currently a Senior at the University of New Mexico. Originally from Roswell, she enjoys photography, drawing, ceramics, and designing things, whether it’s a photo layout or business cards. She also enjoys spending time with family, friends, and Maggie, her chocolate lab. She plans on owning her own design business, magazine, or advertising company one day.

Josh Flores
Marketing Consultant

Josh Flores has been with New Mexico Woman Inc. since 2005. Originally from Santa Fe, he worked three years in television and five years in print journalism. He has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of New Mexico. Josh came up with New Mexico WOMAN’s “Get Seen. Get Connected.” tag line. He can usually be found talking on the phone, networking, and building connections for New Mexico businesses.

Diana Robinson
Marketing Consultant

Diana Robinson comes to New Mexico WOMAN with 30 years experience in sales and customer service. She was raised and educated in a small farming and industrial community in the mid west and graduated from Sinclair Community College with a degree in Business. Now settled here in Albuquerque she has succeed in finding a place in our New Mexico WOMAN community, with aspirations of encouraging the success of local businesses through advertising.

Juli Farresta
Designer

Juli has been producing New Mexico WOMAN magazine since 2000 and is the owner of J. Farresta and the Resta, Creative Graphic Design and Website Development. Juli also offers her design expertise when it comes to marketing, branding, and other aspects of the publishing business. She lives in the beautiful mountains east of Albuquerque and enjoys outdoor sports such as scuba diving.

Sue Duval
Gal Monday through Friday

Each month, a picture of Little Sue is hidden somewhere in New Mexico WOMAN magazine. Hundreds of people call our office to claim they have found Little Sue and to claim a prize, and “Find Little Sue” is one of the most popular features in the magazine. Little Sue says she has never met a stranger, and she’s proud of the fact that her daughter is publisher of New Mexico WOMAN. Little Sue frequently visits with the New Mexico WOMAN staff.
