After Going Red – Start! Walking

Get involved. And start walking!

Start! is a nationwide event to rally communities, businesses, and individuals to raise awareness about the benefits of walking in fighting heart disease.

Join Chairman Marty Chavez, Mayor of Albuquerque, organize a team of walkers with people from your neighborhood, school, company, civic group, or family members. Help save lives and lower New Mexicans’ risk of our nation’s and New Mexico’s No. 1 and No. 3 killers—heart disease and stroke.

Funds raised benefit community programs, education, and lifesaving research.

What: Albuquerque’s 16th Annual Heart Walk and Stroke Fun Walk 5K (3 miles) non-competitive walk with live entertainment, health screenings, educational vendor booths, and more!

When: March 29, rain or shine, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Albuquerque Academy’s Scenic Walking Trail, 6400 Wyoming Blvd. NE
